Data verification is the process of evaluating the completeness, correctness, and conformance/adherence of a specific data set against the method, procedural, or contractual requirements.
There are three scientists employed at Argon including Jane Whitsett (Founder & CEO). Argon’s employees collectively have extensive environmental laboratory, field and consulting expertise. Brief biographies are provided below of our employees.

Jane Whitsett – Founder & CEO
Ms. Whitsett has 31 years of experience in managing and conducting environmental studies, environmental chemistry, quality assurance/quality control, consulting and business management. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry/Biology from Immaculata College (Philadelphia, PA) and a Masters of Science Degree in Biology with Emphasis in Analytical Biochemistry from the University of Alaska-Anchorage.
Her specialty areas are: Environmental baseline studies for NEPA permitting, Large Project Management, Data Management, Environmental Remediation, Environmental Chemistry, Water Quality, Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), Regulatory Compliance and Hazardous Waste Characterization & Disposal. Throughout her career, Ms. Whitsett has often served as QA/QC Officer for projects and business operations. She has also worked extensively on development of environmental databases and management of field and laboratory data for numerous projects.
Rachel James – Senior Chemist
Ms. James has 17 years of experience in environmental consulting and laboratories working on projects throughout the Pacific Northwest involving environmental baseline studies, groundwater corrective action monitoring, landfill investigations, UST removals, and radiological assessments. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Southern Oregon University (Ashland, OR).
Areas of special knowledge include analytical data validation, coordination with laboratories, performing audits on laboratory quality systems and analytical methods, QA/QC document review, and project management. Her data validation experience includes Level II, III, and IV reviews of volatile organics, semivolatile organics, fuels, pesticides, herbicides, PCBs, metals, anions, dissolved gases, and numerous wet chemistry methods.
Jack James – Senior Chemist
Mr. James has 10 years of experience in conducting environmental studies, environmental chemistry, and quality assurance/quality control. His specialty areas are: Project Management, Level II, III, and IV Data Validation, Data Management, Laboratory Oversight and Coordination, review and technical input on Sample Analysis Plans (SAPs), Field Sampling Plans (FSPs), Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs), and collection of various matrices for numerous analytical methods.
Throughout his career, Mr. James has often served in leadership roles including project management, QA/QC representative/auditor, and field operations. He has also worked on the management/development of environmental databases and management of field and laboratory data for several projects.
He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry and a Minor in Mathematics from Southern Oregon University (Ashland, OR) and a Masters of Arts in Teaching Degree with emphasis in Secondary Science Education.
